Group Leader Roles & Responsibilities
- Has
leadership qualities including organizational skills, confidence, positive
attitude, pleasant personality, works well with people and a true team
player.
- Keeps
track of time and follows camp schedule.
- Promotes
safety.
- Contributes
to camp success by attending the Camp Committee meetings prior and during
the camp. Helps in developing
the camp plans and activities.
- Leads
his/her group during the camp activities according to schedule &
participates with group in the activities.
- Doesn't
let a participant go somewhere without knowing where he/she is going.
- Makes
sure group is on time for meals, and makes sure the group stays together.
- Oversees
that their group cleans their area after meals and activities.
- Focuses
on group safety & watches out for accidents. Ex: snakes, electrocution, broken glass, insect bites,
rough plays, etc.
- Knows
where the 1st Aid Station is. Only the group leader takes an injured child
to the 1st Aid Station. The
leader assistant must stay with group at all times.
- Knows
where emergency exits are.
