An Appeal from the Palestinian Women For International Protection and Justice to End the Bloodshed! October 11, 2000 Ramallah, Palestine - We, the women of Palestine, march tonight through the streets of Ramallah at the time during when the Palestinian people are faced by brutal aggression. Tanks, helicopters and internationally-banned weapons are used by the Israeli forces and settlers against unarmed children, men and women. Our people are confronting this excessive force with all their efforts and trying to defend themselves. More of our blood is shed each day, with over 75 Palestinian martyrs and over 1500 Palestinians injured, many of them children. From the land of the defense
of Jerusalem and the holy sites, our voices are united in one call to
end this brutal aggression that targets unarmed civilians in the streets
as well as in their homes. Supporting our just demand to constitute an international commission of inquiry and protection. We appeal to all nations, communities and organizations to organize to support this demand We have been concerned by the actions of concern and protest that have taken place in Arab and Islamic and Western countries, We appeal to the peoples of the Arab and international communities to sustain these actions until practical and concrete measures are undertaken to protect our defenseless people and children. We call upon you to continue with your marches and protests in our defense. We call upon the upcoming Arab Summit to move beyond verbal condemnations and take measures that would effectively ensure the safety of our people and the halt of the bloody aggression against us. We call for the diplomatic and economic boycott of Israel through closing embassies, diplomatic missions and commercial offices and boycotting Israeli products Together to end the bloodshed and for international protection and justice. |
